2016 Department of Energy’s Interior Lighting Campaign (ILC)

The Interior Lighting Campaign (ILC) is a DOE Better Buildings Challenge initiative designed to help facility owners and managers take advantage of savings opportunities from high-efficiency interior lighting solutions. Campaign organizers, Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA), Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES), the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) serve on the ILC Organizing Committee.

  • Tutera Group received the Exemplary Commercial Real Estate and Hospitality Sector Site Award for the LED lighting upgrade of the office building containing its headquarters at 7611 State Line Road.
  • U.S. Toy received the Exemplary Retail, Food Service or Grocery Sector Site Award for the complete LED upgrade of its headquarters in Grandview, MO.

2016 Department of Energy’s Lighting Energy Efficiency in Parking (LEEP)

MC Realty received 2 awards for projects completed by BioStar Lighting. The Department of Energy’s Better Buildings Alliance, in conjunction with The Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA), International Facility Management Organization (IFMA), International Parking Institute (IPI) and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), collaborate on this annual recognition of real estate owners that have achieved exceptional performance in parking facility energy reduction through high-efficiency lighting and controls. MC Realty accepted the award at the 2016 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in Los Angeles alongside other corporations that are actively working to reduce their energy use such as Arby’s Restaurant Group and MGM Resorts International. The awards won were “Highest Percentage Energy Savings in a Retrofit at a Single Parking Structure” and “Exemplary Office Sector Parking Facility”. BioStar’s design team achieved 83% energy savings at Poindexter Garage.
